From the cover: “For their children to ride is the wish or ambition of many parents, and there is no question of the health and joy that it brings to the children, but there are difficulties to be faced, even if the parents themselves are expert riders. In the first place, there is generally the question of expense, especially in these days, then there is the question of procuring and keeping suitable ponies, or again the question of training the ponies and the instructing of the children.

With all these problems Mrs. Blewitt deals in detail, giving valuable advice gathered from personal experience and illustrating her points with delightful drawings full of life and humour, drawings whose quality is vouched for by Mr. A. J. Munnings in his Introduction. The author sets forth, as simply as possible, the best and easiest way to procure and keep ponies, and the way to make the most of them for their own and their riders’ benefit. Housing, feeding, saddlery, and children’s clothes are discussed, as well as hunting, showing, gymkhanas and the various other joys and activities in which a pony enables its young owner to take part. Ponies and Children is not for parents only; it is a book to be given to any child who rides, or hopes to ride.”

Foreword or introduction by A. J. Munnings. Size: 8½" x 6¾". Red boards with Green titling to the Spine & Upper Board. (xv) 133 pages.
