From the cover: “For a century this unique handbook has been called the watch and clock maker’s bible. The 16th edition is newly edited and expanded to cover the developments in horology to the quartz crystal age and also restores some of the material on older work which in previous editions had been deleted. The text follows the principles of sound practical instruction allied to clear and simple language and excellent draughtsmanship, and the format is redesigned for easier handling on a bench. It is a primary work of reference for the maker and repairer and for material dealers, but it also has a new relevance today for the antiquarian collector and restorer where technical descriptions and diagrams are vital for parts which have to be made from scratch.”
