From the cover: “Robert Greacen, born 1920, was brought up in Belfast but has spent most of his life in London where, along with teaching, he has pursued a literary career of high profile, contributing to international journals, including the Times Literary Supplement, and Eire-Ireland. He has published five collections of poetry and edited, with Roy McFadden, Ulster Voices, and later edited the influential anthology Northern Harvest. In 1949, at the request of T.S. Eliot, he edited, with Valentine Iremonger, the Faber Book of Contemporary Poetry. He was acquainted with such poets as W.R. Rodgers and Patrick Kavanagh and his own work has been published in Belfast, London, Edinburgh, Canada, Australia and the United States. He was awarded bursaries by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland in 1971 and 1984.”
