From the cover: “The author who was born in France loved books from her youth, and searched in them for the meaning of life. She qualified as a teacher and this profession enabled her to study deeply. Not caring for elementary teaching she came to England when 20 to teach French in English schools. She has lived here ever since. She continues seeking the meaning of life, not even omitting social problems connected with politics and two World Wars. She styles herself as an anarchist-pacifist with pacifism the foremost guide.

In 1917, she met Havelock Ellis, after his wife’s death. She became a friend of this great scholar, and later lived with him, though she did not marry him. Their friends consider her the second Mrs. Havelock Ellis and she is his heir and literary executrix.

Besides books which she translated from French, she wrote two volumes of autobiography, Francoise andFriendship’s Odyssey.

The Return Of Havelock Ellis constitutes her third book of the trilogy.”
