The Epic of Malta: A Pictorial Survey Of Malta During The Second World War - Anon.

Melitensia Editions, 1993, Paperback.
Condition: Very Good. Gently rubbed at the edges of the spine and wraps. Text complete, clean and tight.

2nd edition. [First Edition Thus: 1990] Illustrated with black and white photographs. From the introduction: “The Epic of Malta was published in London by Odhams Press during the Second World War ‘as a small token of admiration and gratitude’. The entire proceeds of its sale, which must have been speedy and steady, were devoted to the Malta Relief Fund — a contribution to the general war effort. The book does not bear a date, but the content clearly indicates that it was published shortly after the George Cross — awarded to Malta in April 1942 — had been formally presented in an official public ceremony in September of that year. A copy of the book at the University of Malta Library, obtained originally from the Malta Garrison Officers' Library, is stamped by the colony's Information Office and bears the date 28 May 1943.”
